IF: Hierarchy
In a female elephant gang, few animals bother the oldest and biggest of the group because they know she will not put up with any nonsense, according to a new study that found age and size determine wild female elephant hierarchies.
A clear dominance hierarchy probably mitigates this risk of injury .
For instance, if two female elephants both want to eat bark from the same tree branch, the subordinate elephant will simply back off because she knows that, if she were to challenge the other elephant, she would lose .

IF: Theater
Children are masters at award-winning performances, especially when they involve un-intentional lyric rewrites. One mom cherishes the memory of hearing her daughter belt out,"Baa,baa, black sheep, have you any wool?/Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full. One for the master, one for the dame, and one for the little boy who lives down the Drain."

IF: Intricate
The peacocks tail is usually about sixty percent of the total length of the bird and has markings on it that shine gold, blue, red and green and have the shape of an eye inside them.
They use the train for mating and courtship displays, arching it into the most incredibly beautiful fan that will reach completely across the back of the bird and still touch the ground on both sides.
A very intricate thing of grace and beauty .

Happy Square Root Day
Have a look at the site with the clever name Geeks are sexy today! They celebrate the Square Root day, which happens only nine times per century, when the day and month is the the square root of the year. So today, when we have the 3rd of March, we celebrate the fact that 3×3 = the 9 in 2009. A bit far fetched?
Today is the third of nine square root days this century. The first was January 1, 2001 (1/1/01), then February 2, 2004 (2/2/04). Today is March 3, 2009 (3/3/09).
The last square root day of this century will be September 9, 2081 (9/9/81).
Please act responsibly on this nerdy holiday and do not drink and derive.
Put on your party dresses, uncork the wine and get your geek on. Today is 3/3/09.
Officially, that means it is Square Root Day, a holiday for math maniacs and other oddities who relish calendar quirks such as today, when the day and the month are the square root of the last two digits in the current year. Still not sure what I’m talking about? Think back to math class: Three is the square root of nine, meaning 3 x 3 = 9.
The last day Square Root Day was on 2/2/04 and the next one will be in seven years, on 4/4/16.

Feb 11, 2009
As the world turns its focus this week on the apocalyptic bushfires that have ravaged the state of Victoria, Australia, musicians and celebrities unite to raise funds.
In true Australian spirit the music industry has rallied to aid those who have been devastated by the Victorian bushfires that have raged over this past week.
The fires, some deliberately lit, have claimed more than 180 lives and wiped out in excess of 400,000 hectares, destroyed 1000 houses and left more than 7000 homeless.

Illustration Friday : Instinct
The instinctive:
raccoon is a survivor , able to adapt to any environment. Equally at home in the woods or a garden shed, it relies on its keen senses to alert it to danger.
When a pursuer closes in, they seek refuge in trees, out of reach of the enemy.
